New Core MDF Range Offers Flexibility to Merchants

The new 4.4-metre length range of primed MDF Profiles from W.Howard Group offers merchants increased storage flexibility when planning their core stock ranges.

MDF mouldings are traditionally sold in the 5.4-metre lengths that housebuilders prefer, as each single length can be easily cut to form a standard-sized door architrave set without wastage.

Many merchants and distributors prefer to stock shorter lengths, however, as these products must be stored flat, and a 5.4-metre length takes up a lot of valuable warehouse or yard space.

To help support their stockists, W.Howard Group is now offering half-packs of many of its primed MDF profiles in the shorter, 4.4m lengths that merchants prefer – all as part of its core range, available from stock. These are offered in addition to the established 5.4-metre long profiles, allowing distributors to choose whichever size best suits their needs.

Products now available in these shorter, half pack lengths include W.Howard Group’s popular Torus 1, Ogee 1, and Rounded One Edge White Primed Classic Profiles, as well as the Chamfered & Rounded, PSE and Ovolo Contemporary Profiles.

For those merchants whose customers need to cater for Period-style properties, the Group’s Victorian, Georgian, Edwardian and Art Deco Profiles are also all available in 4.4-metre lengths.

These new products form part of W.Howard Group’s popular Core Range, which means they are all available from stock and can be ordered with a rapid five-day lead time.

Simon Fleet, Group Commercial Director of W.Howard Group, said: “We updated and streamlined our Core Range last year to make it easier for merchants to choose the stock they want, and to receive their orders more quickly.

“As the latest phase of our ongoing development, we are now introducing shorter 4.4-metre lengths into our ‘Contemporary’, ‘Period’ and ‘Classic’ ranges, to increase that flexibility even further for our merchants. Everything we do at W.Howard Group puts our stockists first, and we will continue to innovate in the coming months as we cement ourselves as the merchant’s first choice for MDF, veneered and foil-wrapped profiles.”
